Our Westwood Mine recently
renewed its partnership for another three years with “Osisko en lumière
Westwood” as the festival’s presenting sponsor.
The largest festival in the
Abitibi-Témiscamingue region of Quebec, “Osisko en lumière Westwood” attracts tens of
thousands of festival goers to experience local and international artists, a
welcoming community atmosphere and the beauty of the Abitibi landscapes.
Since its creation in 2004, “Osisko en lumière
Westwood” has established itself as a flagship event, and a
key economic, cultural and tourism driver, for the region.
This partnership renewal
comes after a milestone year that saw record breaking attendance at last
August’s festival, including a sold-out show for artist Bryan Adams – the
festival’s first! With the renewal of this strategic collaboration, “Osisko en
lumière Westwood” looks forward to again welcome festival goers of all
ages this summer.
"We
are honoured to be able to count on the support of the Westwood Mine, a partner
committed to the cultural and community development of the region. "This
commitment will allow us to enhance the festival-goer experience, attract
renowned artists and ensure the sustainability of the event for the next three
years."
Frédéric
Roy-Hall, General Manager, Osisko en lumière Westwood
"For
our organization, it is essential to support the cultural vitality of our
region, to give back to our communities and to energize our living environment,
which also has the collateral effect of attracting and retaining new talent in
the region."
Luc
Joncas, Vice President, Quebec, and General Manager of Westwood, IAMGOLD.
Our Westwood team is proud
to continue this partnership for years to come!
