IAMGOLD recently sponsored and participated in the Beaverfest 2024, held at Mattagami First Nation and organized by Mattagami Fur Council and Mattagami Lands and Resources Department.  

Bryan Wilson, Vice President & General Manager of Côté Gold, Francis Letarte Lavoie, Operations Manager, Ross Beauprie, Mill Superintendent, Kelly-Anne Watters, Office Administrator, and Adnan Zaman, Community Relations Superintendent, were in attendance along with Sumitomo representatives, Shinya Takemoto, President & Director of SMM Gold Cote Inc., and Jun Miyazawa, Finance Analyst. 

The event provided an excellent opportunity for young people in and around the community to learn about animal trapping and other traditional activities from local trappers. The day included skinning and harvesting demonstrations, a feast of wild game and current dishes, live entertainment and more. The festival started in 1991.
