Earlier in January, as part of the CEOx1Day program and competition, Dorena Quinn, SVP, People at IAMGOLD joined the semi-finalists for a day of career development.

The students got the opportunity to hear about the evolving role of the CHRO (a.k.a. Chief Human Resources Officer) and received first-hand insights on how to become strong leaders and establish themselves in an organization as they grow their careers.
“Giving back and nurturing the next generation of leaders is an important aspect of what we can do as leaders. I was very pleased to participate in the panel discussion and offer insights into the Chief Human Resources Officer role as well as discuss strategies on how to cultivate the leadership, brand, and talent components that will make these students thrive in their careers. I’m grateful to Odgers Berndston Canada, the organizer, for offering such a forum for exchanging ideas. I look forward to meeting the candidate who will spend one day of mentorship with our President and CEO,” said Dorena Quinn, SVP, People, IAMGOLD.

CEOx1Day Program’s semi-finalists
The program’s finalists, who will be announced in early February, will go on to spend one day of mentorship with one of the participating CEOs, among whom IAMGOLD’s President and CEO, Renaud Adams. We will share the candidate’s name for IAMGOLD as soon as we know it. Stay tuned!
