For the fifth year in a row, IAMGOLD is proud to be a Christmas Tree Sponsor for the “Trees of Joy, Make-A-Wish Foundation of Canada” — an annual initiative that pairs corporate sponsors with children who are battling a life-threatening illness or have just entered the remission stage of such illness.
Last month, our Head Office employees were busy creating a spectacular Disney princess Christmas tree for Autumn, the six-year-old girl we are so honoured to support this year. Our IAMGOLD elves volunteered their time to decorate the tree and wrap the presents.

The “Trees of Joy - Make-A-Wish Foundation of Canada” event consists of selected children being paired with corporations who donate $10K towards the foundation and includes a decorated Christmas tree of the child’s liking and meet for lunch with the child and the family they sponsor. The Christmas tree is then delivered to the child by the foundation for the Holidays.
This year we were very fortunate to sponsor Autumn. Autumn has been diagnosed with a life-threatening illness and has undergone several treatments. Despite these treatments, Autumn continues to fight daily battles related to her illness. Autumn loves music and Disney princesses and was able to fulfill her dream of attending a Disney-themed We are happy to know that our donation helped in achieving that dream.
It was wonderful to meet you, Autumn! Everybody at IAMGOLD wishes you a wonderful Christmas, and we hope that you loved the tree and gifts!
“The Trees of Joy really is a special initiative that not only touches the hearts of the families that are sponsored but also that of the employees who participate. It works both ways. We hope to have made a small difference in Autumn’s life this year. It was a pleasure meeting her and her family!” said Renaud Adams, President and CEO, IAMGOLD.
