Construction at our Côté Gold project continues to advance rapidly and was approximately 85.7% complete at the end of June. We can’t wait to start production in early 2024 and pour our first gold bar at the mine. Keep up the good work everybody! We’re nearly there!
Latest highlights include:
Autonomous Mining & Heavy Mobile Equipment: Most of the equipment has been delivered with the remaining delivery progressing on schedule. Heavy mobile equipment continues to arrive on site. Once in operations, our fleet will include 23 autonomous haul trucks and six autonomous drills all controlled from an integrated operations centre. Autonomous mining has already started.
Labour and workforce: In June, the project workforce exceeded 1,900 workers on site, achieving peak camp capacity. Once in operations, the mine will employ over 500 permanent employees.
Processing plant: Considerable progress in the process area in the second quarter as the project begins the evolution from bulk construction to completions phase with a focusing on finishing activities.
Earthworks activities: Earthworks activities advanced with continued focus on the tailing management facility dams, haul roads for autonomous deployment and overburden removal.
Stockpile: The stockpile has approximately 2.0 million tonnes of material on track to the target build-up of 5.0 million tonnes by the end of the year. Mining operations started operating 24/7 effectively in July.
Community consultation and sustainability: Community consultation and the implementation of the IBA with Indigenous partners continue. The health, safety and environmental programs and the emergency response plan are in development along with standard operating procedures.
