Défi IAMGOLD 2020: a new formula for a well-established event

Our Westwood Mine was very proud to renew its partnership with Défi 117 - IAMGOLD through a $60,000 donation to the Comité de soutien à la pédiatrie de l'Abitibi-Témiscamingue (“Pediatrics Support Committee of Abitibi-Témiscamingue”).

Due to the exceptional circumstances of the pandemic, the Défi’s team developed a new formula aligned with the health authorities’ physical distancing requirements. On June 6, participants were encouraged to make a donation to the Comité de soutien à la pédiatrie and to complete a solo 5-km or 10-km run.

More than 25 members of the Westwood team took part in the movement to support the cause of sick children in the region. A total of over $93,000 was collected as part of this event.

Congratulations to Westwood Mine’s runners! We are encouraging all of our team members to start training now for the 2021 Défi!
